4.3.2. Enabling Deduplication

Requirements

• The proactive deduplication service is available since Strawberry version 6.4.19
• The Proactive Deduplication Service is a license feature and requires separate activation. Please contact our sales team for more information.

Good to know

Once deduplication has been enabled, it will take a while for the setting to take effect. Fingerprinting and deduplication are recurring nightly jobs that are automatically triggered by Strawberry. Once the Proactive Deduplication Service is enabled, check back the next day to see updated stats in the admin panel.

Usage

1. Login to the Strawberry admin panel.
2. Click on the Assets tab.
3. Click on Deduplication Options accordion.
4. Check the box next to Turn on Deduplication. You don’t need to press Save after checking this box.
5. Recommended: Provide an email address to which daily deduplication reports should be sent. Once you have entered the email address, click on the Save button. You can enter multiple email addresses as described here.
