Introduction
macOS 26.1 (Tahoe) appears to have introduced a bug that prevents binaries from obtaining Full Disk Access (FDA) via the standard GUI flow. This affects Strawberry’s com.pam.client.pamhelper from being properly recognized and displayed in the FDA security settings. This manual chapter describes a workaround for this issue.
Workaround
Locate the Helper Executable
1. Open a Finder window.
2. Navigate to the Applications folder.
3. Right-click on the Strawberry Client application.
4. Select Show Package Contents.
5. Navigate through the folders: Contents > Resources.
6. Locate the file named com.pam.client.pamhelper. Keep this Finder window open.
Add the File to the Full Disk Access List
1. Open System Settings.
2. Go to Privacy & Security in the sidebar.
3. Scroll down and click on Full Disk Access.
4. Drag the com.pam.client.pamhelper file directly from the Finder window into the list of applications shown in the Full Disk Access pane.
5. Restart the Mac.
6. After the restart, the FDA permission for com.pam.client.pamhelper is granted, and you will be able to start the Strawberry client application.
