Introduction

Skies offers three tiers of users: Creator, Contributor, and Reviewer, each serving a different purpose within an organization. The Creator tier allows users to modify Skies projects using editing applications and access the production asset interface. Contributors can search, review, annotate, and approve content via the production asset interface and Galleries. Reviewers can only browse and approve content through Galleries.

Creator

The creator tier is Skies’s most feature-rich user tier. It applies to users who create content using editing and creative applications such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Davicini Resolve, Media Composer, ProTools, etc. This tier enables users to access Skies projects on a filesystem level to modify their content physically. Within the scope of their access rights, Creator users can perform the following high-level tasks:

  • Creators can access projects on the storage level to physically modify their content using editing and creative applications.
  • Creators can browse the production asset (PAM) interface and Galleries using the Skies client application or a web browser. They can search, review, annotate, and approve content.
  • Creators can be Administrator users if appointed for that role.

Contributor

The contributor role describes all users who need access to both—the production asset (PAM) interface and Galleries. Contributors don’t need to access projects on the file system level, but they need the ability to search, review, annotate, and approve content. Users with the Contributor role typically are producers, social media managers, marketing managers, content strategists, etc. Within the scope of their access rights, Contributor users can perform the following high-level tasks:

  • Contributors can browse the production asset (PAM) interface and Galleries using a web browser. They can search, review, annotate, and approve content.
  • Contributors can be Administrator users if appointed for that role.

Reviewer

The reviewer role has only access to Galleries and cannot browse the production asset (PAM) portion of the Skies system. Users with the reviewer role typically are clients who need to approve content, social media managers, marketing managers, etc. Within the scope of their access rights, they can perform the following high-level tasks:

  • Reviewers can browse Galleries using a web browser. They can search, review, annotate, and approve content.
  • Reviewers can not be Administrators.
