What is data retention in Strawberry?
Data retention in Strawberry determines whether project files remain stored on the source system when a project is transferred to another site. When the “Retain Data” option is enabled, project files stay on the source system, even though metadata is removed from the database. This ensures that users no longer see the project in their interface, but the actual files still exist on storage. Retained project data is currently not included in storage consumption calculations.
What happens when a project is sent back?
When a project is sent back to its source site, Strawberry checks for existing files and only transfers changes. The system uses incremental file synchronization, meaning only modified or new files are pulled back.
Does data retention apply to proxy Files?
No, currently, data retention does not work for proxy files. These are fully copied each time a project is transferred.
What Happens with retained data when a Project is archived or deleted?
If a project is archived or deleted while its data is retained on other sites, the retained data will also be removed from the other site. This ensures consistency across multi-site environments.
