3.4.7.6.2. Bypass Skies cache for iPad/macOS devices

Strawberry uses the ClearKey encryption standard to encrypt preview proxies before storing them in fast cloud caches. The browser engine Apple uses for its mobile IOS devices and Safari on macOS does not support ClearKey. This prevents users with such devices from streaming proxy files through the Skies cloud infrastructure.

To circumvent this issue, Strawberry administrators can bypass Skies caches for Apple devices and browsers that do not support ClearKey. When these devices request a proxy stream from the Strawberry host, the proxy will not be served from a cloud cache but directly from the Strawberry host.

Usage

1. log in to the Strawberry Admin panel.
2. Click on the Misc tab.
3. Click on the Security Settings bar to expand it
4. Check the box next to Bypass Skies cache for iPad/macOS devices.
5. Press “Save”
